These shoes are in honour of Laika, a big name in the space race, much better known than many astronauts. She crewed the Sputnik 2 satellite and became the first creature from earth to go into space. This journey proved the possibility of surviving in space, even if it cost her her life. At Mumka we wanted to honour the precious Laika (although she is not the same race as the one drawn on the shoe) because it seems to us that thanks to her there could have been many advances but at the same time, we believe it could have been avoided. Here's to you Laika!
